Chris Madigan

Co-Clinical Director | Counselor

Chris is currently accepting new clients.

Chris has openings for supervisees in Oregon.

Chris approaches counseling much like Sam helps Frodo in Lord of the Rings — he will follow you and help you with your burden for as long as you need him, all while knowing it's your journey and your burden to bear.

He works with teens, adults, and elders, individually and in groups, drawing on an eclectic mix of approaches — cognitive behavioral, narrative, existential, psychodynamic, and strength-based, among others — depending on what each client needs.

Chris thoroughly enjoys working with clients who are experiencing existential dread or feel like they're searching for some sort of meaning in life. This could include but is not limited to: feeling anxious, guilty, or depressed without knowing why, a loss of interest in your hobbies and relationships, and/or questioning your goals, ideals and values. More broadly, he also works a lot with anxiety, grief, life transitions, family conflict, codependency, body image, and trauma and PTSD, as well as relationships outside convention, including polyamory and ethical non-monogamy.

He also has a great interest in working with folks exploring their spiritual identity. He does not offer faith based counseling, but instead explores what the meaning of spirituality means to each individual client. This could also include unpacking spiritual trauma, which could include negative experiences with religions and/or cults.

Chris is an LGBTQ+ and racial-justice allied provider.

If you are looking for sessions that can get real meta and focused on the development of your own identity, then Chris is the counselor for you. He hopes you'll reach out so you can work together on this journey.
