Kathryn believes therapy should be a place where all people can feel understood and valued exactly as they are. She sees clients as the experts on their lived experiences, so she collaborates with them on achieving their goals for seeking counseling. Her therapy sessions aim to understand all the different parts within the self that create internal conflict, seeking to restore a sense of calm. Kathryn’s sessions are designed to be a soft place to land for folks who feel anxious or unsure of why they keep repeating certain patterns in their life. Her approach is intentionally gentle, focused on helping clients build confidence in trusting themselves.
Whatever passions bring joy to a client’s life are welcomed into the session. If clients find identification through favorite characters, song lyrics, games, or art, those are seen as important parts of truly knowing a client’s journey and values.
Kathryn works with clients experiencing anxiety, grief, trauma, spiritual deconstruction or religious trauma, identity exploration, and people who are seeking counseling for the first time. She provides affirming care for LGBTQIA+ individuals.
Kathryn is certified in Restoration Therapy, focusing on patterns of pain and peace that guide client’s reactions, helping them move toward more grounded ways of relating to others. She integrates inner child work, somatic-informed interventions, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. This keeps her style warm and empowering, with clients able to take up space within the session to tell their story.
Kathryn is a current masters-level student intern at OSU Cascades under the supervision of Amy Weald. In her free time, she kayaks, writes, and participates in tabletop roleplaying games.
